The Gharana standard

A stricter standard for the oil you cook with every day

Most packaged cooking oil is refined — extracted with heat and chemical solvents, then bleached and deodorised until the flavour is gone. Ours is not. Four things we will not compromise on:

Whole groundnuts

Sorted whole groundnuts go into the press — and the ingredients list reads just one thing: groundnut oil.

Pressed slowly

A traditional slow press instead of high-heat industrial extraction, so the oil keeps its natural character.

Filtered, never refined

Carefully filtered for a clean finish. No chemical solvents, no bleaching, no deodorising.

Honest labelling

Clear allergen advice, origin and batch information on every bottle. Nothing hidden.

Oil the way a gharana kitchen has always known it.

See the difference

Refined vs. cold pressed

Colour, aroma and taste tell you how an oil was made. Cold pressing keeps what refining strips away.

Typical refined oil

  • TasteNeutral — natural flavour removed

Gharana cold pressed

Questions

Good to know

What does "cold pressed" mean?

The oil is pressed mechanically from the seed without the high heat and chemical solvents used to make refined oil. It is then filtered rather than bleached or deodorised, so it keeps its natural colour, aroma and taste.

What does “kachi ghani” mean?

Kachi ghani is the first, slow pressing of whole seeds — the way oil has been made in Indian villages for generations. The seed is pressed mechanically, without high heat or chemicals, so the oil keeps its natural aroma and taste.

Is groundnut oil the same as peanut oil?

Yes. Groundnut (moongphali) and peanut are the same — which is why our label carries both names.

Can I fry with it?

Yes. Groundnut oil has been a go-to frying oil in Indian kitchens for generations — for pakoras, puris and snacks as well as everyday tadka and sabzi.

Is it suitable for people with nut allergies?

No. Our groundnut oil contains peanuts and is not suitable for anyone with a peanut allergy.

How should I store it?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and close the cap after use.

Where do you deliver, and how can I pay?

We deliver across India through our courier partners — orders of 4 or more bottles ship free, and we deliver ourselves in Raipur. Pay online with UPI, cards or netbanking, or choose Cash on Delivery. Enter your PIN code on any product page to check delivery. See shipping for details.
